How we handle your information.

What we collect

When you use our contact or subscribe forms, we collect your name, email address, organization (optional), and the message you send us.

When you browse the site, our hosting provider records standard technical data such as IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit, and the site that referred you.

Why we collect it

To respond to your enquiry, to send you the insights you asked for, and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We collect only what we need for those purposes.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to you, deliver the material you requested, and maintain the site. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other websites.

Who we share it with

We do not routinely share personal information. Limited exceptions: service providers who help us operate the site (for example, email delivery) under confidentiality terms, and legal counsel or authorities where we are required by law.

Our contact, subscribe and guide request forms are processed by Formspree, a US-based service, so information you submit through them may be stored outside Canada.

Information you give us as part of a paid engagement is governed by the separate written agreement for that engagement, not by this website policy.

How we protect it

We apply encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access on a need-to-know basis, multi-factor authentication on sensitive accounts, and a documented breach-response procedure. We keep website enquiry data only as long as needed to respond to you and to meet our record-keeping obligations.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies. We use cookieless, aggregate analytics to see which pages are read and which links are used, such as booking a call or requesting a guide. It stores no identifier on your device: each visit gets a random number that exists only while the page is open, so we can count visits. It is never used for advertising and does not track you across other websites.

The analytics data is stored in Canada, in Microsoft Azure (Canada Central), and deleted after 90 days. It records the page address without any query string, the browser and device type, the website that referred you, and an approximate location derived from your IP address; the IP address itself is not stored. It never records what you type into a form.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, the analytics does not load and nothing is sent. See our Cookies page for details.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you can ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it (subject to any legal retention obligation). Email us and we will respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The 'last updated' date above always reflects the current version.
